Water Economics and Social Issues

Recognizing the need to complement the scientific research on water quality management with research on socioeconomic strategies, ACEWATER will invest in shaping and strengthening the economic aspects of sustainable water resource management and utilization. The main aim of this unit is to teach courses and conduct scientific researches on economic aspect of water related issues. To achieve this, there are three operational objectives for the life time of the grant, which are:

Objective 1: Conduct studies on access to clean water and development issues.

Objective 2: Research on issues relating to water markets in West and Central Africa.

Objective 3: Studies on the financial and economic dimensions affecting the use of water in West and Central Africa.
