The vision of this research unit is to provide accurate and timely water quality data that will be useful to public health practitioners and policy makers in the sub-region. The research has three (3) objectives which are:
Objective 1: Water Ecosystem Monitoring which is meant to provide up-to-date chemical and biodiversity data on the status of important water bodies and the impact of climate change on the quality of water ecosystem.
Objective 2: Understanding the toxicological effect of emerging contaminants aimed at understanding the health implications of emerging pollutants found in the sub-region.
Objective 3: Biotreatment of Water aimed at proffering biological treatment solutions to poor water quality in the sub-region. They are expected to be cheaper, readily available and eco-friendly.
