Environmental Hydriology is the applied science that investigates and characterizes the environmental state of water resources. The main interest of the EHU is to develop several numerical models and simulations for enhancing transport of quality water from streams, rivers, and groundwater in rural and urban settings in the sub-region of West and Central Africa. This research portfolio aims to contribute to the advancement of hydrological knowledge and capability through research and education, leading to improved prediction and management of water resources in the sub-region
Objective 1: Modeling hydrodynamic conditions for monitoring dissolved oxygen (DO), Chemical Oxygen Demand (COD), Biological Oxygen Demand (BOD), Total Dissolved Solids, etc in wastewater
Objective 2: Develop models based on Darcy law for studying Flood and drought risk assessment and for development of predictive framework for the assessment of water quality behaviours and pollutant migration via tidal waves from deep water flow.
Objective 3: Water quality and aquatic ecosystem modeling
